Italy has played a fundamental role in the history of the IDO. Together with Switzerland, France, and Gibraltar, it was one of the founding nations on September 18, 1981, thanks to the efforts of Moreno Polidori. Now, with the evolution of the international dance landscape, a new team led by Edilio Pagano has established CIBS to continue Italy’s legacy in IDO and ensure a strong national representation.
The newly appointed CIBS Board consists of experienced professionals who have been actively involved in IDO for years:
- President: Edilio Pagano
- Senior Vice President: Giancarlo Tarabella
- Vice President: Nicolò Galanti
- Secretary: Marco Falaschi
- Board Members:
- Alessia Barni
- Agnese Di Biasi
- Valentina Maoggi
- Gregorio Erario
- Alex Zampierollo
- Davide Fanti
- Valerio Bennardo
CIBS is already fully operational across Italy, with numerous teachers and athletes engaged in the organization’s initiatives. As part of its mission, CIBS is set to host four IDO Licensed Events in Italy and organize national teams for the IDO European Championships in June 2025.
The organization is also committed to educational and professional development, with upcoming conferences for teachers, judge certification exams, and training sessions for dancers. These initiatives will strengthen the presence of IDO disciplines in Italy and provide dancers with new opportunities for international success.
“We are thrilled to embark on this journey with IDO,” said Edilio Pagano, President of CIBS. “Our goal is to create a strong, structured environment for Italian dancers to grow, compete, and represent Italy on the world stage.”
IDO warmly welcomes CIBS and looks forward to a new era of excellence in Italian dance.
