IDO launches its first-ever Strategic Plan to define a clear vision, mission, and direction for the next decade
The International Dance Organization (IDO) has officially launched work on its first Strategic Plan, titled Vision 2032—a historic milestone that marks a new chapter in the organization’s global development and long-term leadership in the dance world.
As IDO continues to grow as one of the world’s largest and most influential dance organizations—uniting thousands of dancers, professionals, and member organizations across all continents—the importance of a shared, clearly defined long-term vision has never been greater. Vision 2032 represents a collective commitment to clarity, purpose, and sustainable development, ensuring that IDO moves forward with unity, ambition, and strategic focus.
Following a decision adopted at the previous Presidium meeting, a Strategic Planning Committee was formally established, bringing together experienced leaders and experts from across the IDO structure:
-
Velibor Srdić, IDO President
-
Fiona Johnson
-
Kirsten Dan Jensen
-
Patrik Perosa
-
Gaetan Garcia
-
Michael Wendt
-
Slobodan Simović
At the Committee meeting held on 9 February 2026, the foundations of the Strategic Plan were formally set. The Committee adopted the structure of the future strategic document, approved the Gantt timeline, and finalized a comprehensive questionnaire that will be distributed to all IDO member organizations and official representatives worldwide.
This questionnaire is a key element of the Vision 2032 process. It is designed to encourage broad participation and to ensure that the strategy is shaped by the real needs, experiences, and aspirations of the entire IDO community—across regions, disciplines, and generations.
“Our vision is for IDO to move forward with a clear mission, strong values, and well-defined goals for the years ahead. IDO has become a truly global family, and this project is born from both responsibility and the desire to define our future together. Every member of our community will be involved in the creation of this strategy. I kindly invite all interested parties to contribute their insights through the online questionnaire, helping us to better understand our internal and external position and to identify the key factors essential for the development of this strategic document. This is a demanding, professional, and inspiring journey that awaits us in the coming months, following a long and thoughtful preparation,”
said Prof. Dr. Sc. Velibor Srdic, IDO President.
Vision 2032 is more than a strategic document. It is a shared commitment to innovation, inclusivity, excellence, and collaboration. By actively involving its global membership in this process, IDO reaffirms its dedication to building a strong, unified, and forward-looking future for dance—one shaped together, with purpose and vision.
