Two Exciting IDO Licensed Events Set to Welcome Dancers in Hong Kong and Sweden
The International Dance Organization (IDO) is pleased to announce two outstanding licensed competitions taking place this August, offering dancers from around the world the opportunity to perform, compete, and celebrate the universal language of dance.
Bauhinia International Dance Grand Prix 2026 – Hong Kong
4–8 August 2026 | Hong Kong SAR, China
The Bauhinia International Dance Grand Prix 2026 returns as one of Asia's most established IDO Licensed competitions, continuing a tradition that has been inspiring dancers for more than fifteen years.
Organized by the Hong Kong Dance Federation, the event combines an online preliminary round with prestigious live finals at the Auditorium, Tuen Mun Town Hall in Hong Kong. The competition welcomes dancers across a wide range of disciplines, including:
- Chinese Dance
- Ballet
- Contemporary Dance
- Jazz Dance
- Street Dance
- Open Dance
The Bauhinia Grand Prix has become an important platform for artistic excellence and international cultural exchange, bringing together talented dancers from Hong Kong, Mainland China, and countries across the world in an atmosphere of friendship, creativity, and mutual inspiration.
IDO Disco Grand Prix – Örebro, Sweden
22–23 August 2026 | Conventum Arena, Örebro
Just weeks before the IDO World Disco Championships, the spotlight turns to Sweden as Örebro hosts the IDO Disco Grand Prix 2026.
Organized by SDO (Swedish Dance Organization) together with Knut Säborg Dansstudio, this popular international competition serves as the perfect start to the new disco dance season.
Held at the Conventum Arena, dancers of all age groups will compete in both Disco Dance and Disco Slow, featuring three competition levels:
- Rising Star
- Star
- Open
The event provides an ideal opportunity for athletes to test their performances, gain valuable competition experience, and prepare for the upcoming IDO World Championships that will also take place in Örebro in September.
The International Dance Organization wishes every dancer, coach, official, volunteer, and organizer a successful and inspiring competition.
