Global Tap Dance Community Gathers to Discuss 2024 IDO World Championships and More

The Tap Dance Committee convened online on February 8, 2024, for a highly productive meeting chaired by Nancy Chippendale from the USA. A total of 26 participants, representing 15 voting countries across four continents, actively engaged in discussions.

The committee deliberated on various important matters, including a comprehensive review of last year's competitions and preparations for the upcoming 2024 IDO World Championships. Notably, this edition of the championships will mark a significant milestone, as it will be hosted by the Czech organizers in Prague at the TAP Academy. Tomas Slavicek, the main organizer, took the floor to address queries from delegates, providing valuable insights into the event's planning and execution.

Among the highlights of the meeting was the unveiling of the tentative schedule for the 2024 IDO World Championships, promising an exciting and dynamic program for participants and audiences alike.

The diversity of perspectives brought by the 15 voting countries and the enthusiasm displayed by the 26 present delegates underscored the global nature of the tap dance community. The commitment to excellence and collaboration was evident throughout the meeting.

As the event approaches, the TAP DANCE Committee remains dedicated to fostering the growth and promotion of tap dance worldwide. The shift to Prague for the 2024 IDO World Championships signifies an exciting new chapter for the tap dance community, and anticipation is building among enthusiasts globally.
