SYLWANA PATLASZYŃSKA ELECTED CHAIRPERSON OF THE IDO PERFORMING ARTS IMPROVISATION COMMITTEE

The International Dance Organization (IDO) is pleased to announce that Sylwana Patlaszyńska has been elected as the new Chairperson of the Performing Arts Improvisation Committee. Her election comes at a time of rapid growth for this dynamic and increasingly popular IDO department.

Under the leadership of the committee and with the strong engagement of its members, 2025 marked a historic milestone:
➡️ the establishment of the first-ever IDO European Championships in Grodzisk Mazowiecki, and
➡️ the first World Championships in Castellanza.

Both events achieved remarkable success, confirming the explosive development of the Improvisation category within IDO.

During the meeting, 17 delegates—together with IDO Vice Presidents Hana Švehlová and Bonnie Dyer—actively discussed ways to improve the rules, structure, and event flow to support the department's continued evolution.

In her remarks, newly elected Chairperson Sylwana Patlaszyńska stated:

“Grodzisk Mazowiecki and Castellanza have proved that this department will, in the future, be one of the most attractive for dancers. The progress we have seen this year is only the beginning.”

The IDO congratulates Sylwana Patlaszyńska and looks forward to the continued growth and innovation of the Performing Arts Improvisation division.
