Skopje Ready to Welcome 2,900 Dancers for the IDO European Performing Arts Championships

The countdown has officially begun for one of the largest Performing Arts events on the European dance calendar.

From 21–29 September 2026, the Boris Trajkovski Sports Center in Skopje, North Macedonia, will host the IDO European Ballet, Jazz, Modern & Contemporary Championships, welcoming an impressive 2,900 dancers from 26 countries.

Over nine days, Europe's finest dancers will compete across Ballet, Jazz Dance, Modern & Contemporary and Performing Arts disciplines, transforming Skopje into the heart of European dance.

The championship is organized by MAMD, under the direction of Trajce Petkovski, with the support of an experienced international team of officials:

• Chairpersons of Judges: Hana Švehlová (Slovakia) & Jannie Breiner Jensen (Denmark)
• Supervisor: Bonnie Dyer (Canada)
• Scrutineer: Michal Gawron (Poland)

Organizer Trajce Petkovski expressed his pride ahead of the championships:

With record participation, a spectacular venue and months of meticulous preparation, Skopje is ready to welcome Europe for what promises to be one of the most memorable IDO championships ever staged.
