Seamus Byrne Unanimously Elected Chairperson of the IDO Show Dance Committee

CASTELLANZA, ITALY — The International Dance Organization (IDO) is proud to announce that Seamus Byrne of Gibraltar has been unanimously elected as the new Chairperson of the IDO Show Dance Committee.

The election took place during the IDO Show Dance Committee meeting in Castellanza, attended by 19 delegates from 14 countries, with the participation of IDO Presidium members Hana Švehlová and Bonnie Dyer.

Delegates expressed full confidence in Byrne’s experience, leadership, and dedication to the discipline. His appointment marks an exciting new chapter in the development of Show Dance — one of IDO’s historic disciplines, originating in 1982 and continuing to evolve into a globally recognized performance art.

Under Byrne’s leadership, the committee aims to strengthen competition structures, expand international engagement, and support the artistic growth of Show Dance worldwide.
