Safeguarding Lecture Highlights Global Commitment to Protecting Dancers
The International Dance Organization (IDO) hosted an important safeguarding lecture led by Rachel Jackson-Weingaertner from Germany, addressing one of the most sensitive and vital topics in the dance world: the protection and well-being of dancers.
The session emphasized the importance of safeguarding as a shared responsibility, not only for organizers and trainers but for every individual involved in the dance community. Ms. Jackson-Weingaertner highlighted key challenges and best practices, sparking a meaningful discussion among participants.
More than 50 representatives from across the globe took part in the lecture, underscoring the international scope and relevance of this issue. Participants joined from:
Australia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Italy, Lithuania, Mexico, Norway, Poland, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, South Africa, Sweden, Türkiye, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom.
The IDO reaffirmed its strong commitment to creating a safe environment for dancers of all ages and disciplines. By opening space for education and dialogue, the Organization continues to strengthen its safeguarding framework and global awareness.
