Show Dance Committee Exhibits Global Unity in Virtual Meeting

The International Dance Organization's (IDO) Show Dance Committee recently convened for an online meeting on February 18thThe meeting, held via Zoom, brought together 30 delegates representing 21 countries and spanning four continents.

Chaired by Ralf Josat from Germany, the committee engaged in fruitful discussions, reflecting on the success of the 2023 competition events and shedding light on the exciting prospects for upcoming 2024 IDO Show Dance events, slated to take place in Poland and Germany. Among the key topics explored was the introduction of a new evaluation system, aimed at enhancing the overall experience for participants and spectators alike.

The committee was honored to welcome new delegates to the meeting, hailing from Austria, South Korea, and Lithuania, contributing to the international diversity and collaborative spirit that defines the IDO. A special highlight of the gathering was the presence of Michael Wendt, a distinguished figure in the dance community and the organizer of numerous World Show Dance Championships.

The discussions during the meeting not only highlighted the vibrant evolution of Show Dance but also emphasized the commitment of the IDO to foster global unity in the performing arts community. The exchange of ideas, experiences, and future plans demonstrated the resilience and adaptability of the international dance community in the face of challenges, with virtual platforms serving as bridges connecting artists from around the world.

As the IDO looks forward to hosting exciting events in 2024 and beyond, the Show Dance Committee remains dedicated to advancing the art of Show Dance and maintaining the organization's position as a beacon for collaboration and excellence in the performing arts.
