Over 3,000 Dancers Compete at IDO Licensed Event in Tivoli, Italy
TIVOLI, ITALY – More than 3,000 dancers from across Italy gathered in Tivoli for the Choreographic Dance Festival, an IDO licensed event that brought together 120 dance studios and clubs from all regions of the country. The event was officially supported by CIBS – Comitato Italiano Ballo Sportivo, the newly recognized IDO National Member Organization in Italy.
A highlight of the weekend was the celebration of CIBS and its 2024 IDO champions, held on Friday. The ceremony honored Italian athletes who achieved outstanding results, with 150 gold, 120 silver, and 95 bronze medals awarded. The awards were presented by CIBS President Edilio Pagano, with the support of the CIBS board members and Vice President Nicolò Galanti, a longstanding organizer of IDO events in Italy.
IDO President Velibor Srdic shared a special video message congratulating CIBS and highlighting the long-standing contributions of Moreno Polidori, one of IDO's founders, and Edilio Pagano, IDO Vice President.
"This festival was a huge success and marks just the beginning of a series of strong and well-organized IDO events in Italy," said Edilio Pagano, IDO Vice President and President of CIBS.
The event welcomed several distinguished guests, including Jessica De Bona, Michele Barbone, Piercarlo Pilani, Ferruccio Galvagno, Renzo Maoggi, Mirco De Bona, Simone Arrighi, Ivan Calicchia, and Luca De Letteris.
The next IDO licensed event in Italy is scheduled for 1–4 May in Follonica, continuing a strong season of national and international dance competitions under the IDO umbrella.
