Nine Remarkable Days at the IDO World Championships in De Panne

The International Dance Organization proudly reflects on nine remarkable days of competition at the IDO World Ballet, Jazz, Modern & Contemporary Championships held in the Proximustheatre, Plopsaland De Panne.
This year’s event welcomed more than 3,500 dancers from 34 countries, creating one of the most vibrant, diverse, and dynamic editions of these championships to date.

From the opening moments to the final awards, the Proximustheatre stage carried an extraordinary flow of performances. Ballet, Jazz, Modern, and Contemporary dancers brought strong technique, clear stage presence, and a level of preparation that impressed both officials and audiences. Each discipline demonstrated growth within the IDO structure, confirming that participation and quality continue to rise steadily every year.

Fiona Johnson, IDO Senior Vice President and Supervisor of the championships, shared her positive view of this year’s edition. She noted that the dancers delivered strong and confident performances across all categories and that the rising level is visible each season. Her praise extended to the organizational team and the dedication shown by the IDO Belgium structure.

Event organizer Dimitri Covent (IDO Belgium – BULDO) expressed his gratitude to all dancers, dance organizations, team leaders, and especially the parents, acknowledging their role as the foundation of support for the dancers and the event itself. He emphasized the teamwork behind the scenes, which ensured smooth days in the Proximustheatre.

"From the perspective of the IDO Vice President for Marketing and Communications,
the Proximustheatre and the entire Plopsaland complex proved to be a magnificent environment for a world-level championship. This view also highlighted that the success of these nine days is strong evidence that IDO remains the leading dance organization in the world, combining top dancers, structured competition systems, and a high standard of presentation." - Said Trajce Petkovski

Throughout the championship, the performances were captured by Photo Studio Still, the official photo/video partner whose coverage allowed the global dance community to follow the event closely.

These nine days in De Panne will be remembered as a powerful chapter in the history of the IDO World Championships — a celebration of commitment, unity, and the global dance family that continues to grow stronger each year.
