Lectures for New Supervisors and Chairpersons of Adjudicators Held in April
April 22–23, 2025 marked two important days for the International Dance Organization (IDO), as it hosted a series of educational lectures dedicated to the training and development of future IDO Supervisors and Chairpersons of Adjudicators.
Held online, the sessions welcomed a new generation of candidates eager to contribute to the continued growth and professionalism of IDO events worldwide. The lectures were led by IDO experts Kirsten Dan Jensen, Fiona Johnson, and Velibor Srdic, covering essential knowledge and practices for officiating at the highest level.
This initiative reflects a broader trend within the IDO: an increasing number of organizers and licensed events are demanding strong supervisory leadership to ensure fairness, quality, and consistency. With rising international interest and new competitions joining the IDO calendar each year, the organization continues to prioritize educational investment to meet these evolving needs.
The official exam for these candidates will take place on July 7, 2025, in Atlantic City, USA, in conjunction with an upcoming IDO Championship.
“The interest in becoming a Supervisor or Chairperson has never been higher,” said Velibor Srdic, IDO President. “This shows that the IDO is not only growing, but raising the bar in event execution and officiating standards—setting itself apart from other international dance organizations.”
