Kielce, Poland to Host Record-Breaking IDO World Hip Hop Championship

Get ready for the dance event of a lifetime as Kielce, Poland, is set to host the IDO World Hip Hop Championship, bringing together talented dancers from across the globe. This extraordinary event promises to break all records and showcase the immense talent of dancers from 31 countries. From October 23rd to 28th, 2023, Kielce will become the world capital of dance, providing spectators with a mesmerizing display of dance battles and shows at the Hala Legionów.

The official details of this highly anticipated event were unveiled during a press conference held at the Binkowski Hotel. The press conference featured key figures and partners involved in organizing this remarkable championship.

This year's edition of the IDO World Hip Hop, Popping, Hip Hop Battles, and Breaking Championships in Kielce is expected to host approximately 4,500 competitors, including 200 judges, activists, coaches, and an enthusiastic audience of 15,000 spectators. This record-breaking championship is set to welcome the finest dancers from around the world, drawing global attention to the vibrant city of Kielce.

Deputy Minister of Sport and Tourism, Anna Krupka, expressed her excitement about the championship and highlighted the significance of such events in promoting the city and the region. "The eyes of the whole world will be focused on Kielce. I am glad that we can work together for the city and the region, because sport is the best promotion. I hope that the players will leave us with great memories," she remarked.

The competition will span six days, during which the most talented dancers from various countries will compete for titles, medals, and cups at the international level. These breathtaking battles will be closely observed by dance enthusiasts from the stands and the arena.

Anna Biały, Vice-President of the Świętokrzyski Jump Dance Club, one of the co-organizers of the event, said, "Hip-hop battles watched closely will certainly impress the fans." She expressed her confidence that the event would be a resounding success.

Voivode of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, Zbigniew Koniusz, emphasized the passion that the event has inspired and predicted its success. "People with passion invited other people with passion to Kielce. These young people will certainly be provided with warmth, care, and a lot of sympathy. This event is doomed to success," he affirmed.

Bogdan Wenta, President of Kielce, emphasized the importance of world-class championships for the city and extended his warm invitation to all participants and spectators. "I already wish all participants unforgettable experiences and many emotions, good condition and the favor of the judges. I hope that all dancers, coaches, and fans will spend an extraordinary time in Kielce," he said.

This championship is a unique opportunity to witness the world's best dancers from countries such as Austria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Germany, Denmark, Finland, Italy, Norway, Sweden, Turkey, Great Britain, Canada, South Africa, and South Korea. Only the cream of the crop, carefully selected in their respective countries, will compete in Kielce. This event marks a historic occasion as it hosts the largest number of dancers ever assembled for an IDO championship.

Anna Biały also highlighted the significance of this year's championship, as it coincides with several important anniversaries. "There will be several reasons to celebrate, because the championships take place during important anniversaries. This year, we celebrate the 50th anniversary of hip-hop music in the world, and the main organizer of the event, Świętokrzyski Jump Dance Club, celebrates its 25th anniversary."

The IDO World Hip Hop Championship is not only a showcase of talent but a celebration of dance and passion. The event has garnered support from co-organizers such as the Ministry of Sport and Tourism, the Świętokrzyskie Voivode, the Marshal's Office of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, and the Kielce City Hall.
