International Dance Organization Celebrates International Dance Day 2025 with a Global Message of Unity and Growth
April 29 is recognized worldwide as International Dance Day — a moment dedicated to the art of movement and its impact across cultures and communities.
The International Dance Organization (IDO) marks this occasion by reflecting on a strong and active year, bringing together dancers from more than 90 member nations through competitions, educational activities, and international events.
Throughout 2025, thousands of dancers participated in IDO championships across multiple continents, representing a wide range of disciplines including Street Dance, Performing Arts, and Couple Dance styles. These events continue to showcase both the diversity and the high level of the global dance scene.
To highlight this year’s activity, IDO is presenting a selection of standout moments captured during the 2025 championships. Through these images, the energy, precision, and emotion of dancers worldwide are brought into focus, reflecting the strength of today’s international dance community.
On this occasion, IDO President Prof. Dr. Velibor Srdić shared his official message:
“On the occasion of International Dance Day, I am honored to address the global dance community and all those who recognize the profound power of movement as a universal language.
Allow me to reinterpret an ancient Latin proverb in a way that reflects the spirit of our art: Nulla dies sine dance — not a single day without dance. This simple thought captures the essence of what dance represents in our lives — a constant source of inspiration, expression, discipline, and unity.
International Dance Day is more than a celebration; it is a reminder of the unique ability of dance to transcend borders, cultures, and differences. It brings people together in a shared rhythm, fostering understanding, respect, and a deep sense of belonging. Dance is both an art and a sport — at once graceful and demanding, emotional and precise — requiring passion, resilience, and unwavering dedication.
Today, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to dancers, choreographers, instructors, officials, and all lovers of dance across the world. Your commitment continues to elevate dance to new heights and ensures its enduring impact on generations to come.
The International Dance Organization (IDO) proudly remains a platform for innovation, excellence, and diversity — a place where the most inspiring ideas are realized, where the richness of dance styles is celebrated, and where a true global family continues to grow stronger every day.
Let us continue to nurture the values that dance embodies — creativity, perseverance, unity, and joy.
Happy International Dance Day.”
International Dance Day serves as a reminder of the importance of dance as both an artistic expression and a structured competitive discipline. Through its global network, IDO continues to support dancers, organizers, and communities worldwide, strengthening international collaboration and creating opportunities for future generations.
