International Christmas Dance Festival Mikolajki 2025 Confirms Its Legendary Status
The International Christmas Dance Festival Mikolajki 2025, held from 11–14 December in Mikołajki, Poland, once again proved why it is one of the most loved winter events on the IDO calendar. Organized by IDO Poland, the Polish Dance Federation, and Reliese Dance Academy, this IDO licensed event delivered its largest and most emotional edition to date.
This year’s festival brought together 1,350 dancers with 1,570 presentations, representing over 50 dance schools from 10 countries: Czechia, Germany, Ukraine, Lithuania, Latvia, Italy, Norway, Denmark, the USA, and Poland. Across four days, the event combined competitive dance with a strong Christmas identity that made Mikolajki feel like a true winter dance village.
A Festival Built on Tradition and Emotion
IDO Supervisor Irena Bous (Ukraine) highlighted the deep roots of the event, recalling that the journey in Mikołajki began back in 2001 with the launch of World Dance Week by Piotr Patłaszyński at Hotel Gołębiewski.
Each edition has carried its own character, always driven by care for dancers, coaches, judges, and spectators. The 2025 edition introduced special moments, including live music during the Gala Show for Christmas PAI and Disco Slow finalists, adding a new emotional dimension to the performances.
One of the most distinctive elements of the festival remained the Christmas categories, where dancers performed in festive costumes. All participants received gifts for their Christmas look, creating smiles on the dance floor and strong emotions in the audience. Many parents were deeply moved, especially those who once danced in Mikolajki themselves years ago.
The event took place across two halls within the hotel, enhanced by festive scenography and the specially created Santa Claus Village, turning the competition into a full Christmas experience.
A Strong IDO Event With a Clear Future
As an IDO licensed event, the festival was delivered at a very high organizational level, combining strong competition with warmth, joy, and community spirit.
Trajce Petkovski, IDO Vice President for Marketing & Communications, stated that the event exceeded everyone’s expectations, showing once again how passion and professionalism can transform any venue into a place filled with magic. He also expressed confidence that the festival will continue to grow and break new records in the years ahead.
Special thanks go to Piotr Patłaszyński, Leszek Cichocki, Sylwana, Ania, and the Polish Dance Federation for creating such a memorable experience for dancers and families alike.
The legend is back — and it continues in 2026.
