Initial Success for “The Power of Public Relations in Sport” (PPR) Project

Copenhagen, Denmark – The project partners of "The Power of Public Relations in Sport" (PPR), co-funded by the Erasmus+ Sport Programme of the European Union, recently gathered in Copenhagen for an intensive two-day workshop dedicated to advancing communication and public relations within the sports sector.

The workshop brought together project representatives, communication specialists, and organization leaders who engaged in collaborative learning sessions led by Studio Conex d.o.o. (Croatia) and Institut de Haute Formation Aux Politiques Communautaires - IHF (Belgium). The highlight of the workshop was the presentation of a draft version of the Handbook for PPR Educators.
Representing the International Dance Organization (IDO) were Fiona Johnson (Senior Vice President), Trajce Petkovski (Vice President for Marketing and Communication), Patrik Perosa (Advisor to the President), and Gaynor Johnson (IDO Marketing Manager).
The workshop agenda covered critical aspects of sport communication and PR:
On the first day the attendees delved into the complexities of brand-building in sports, with focused sessions on crafting unique, recognizable sports brands and strategies for attracting and managing sponsorships effectively.
The second day centred on media relations, exploring best practices for securing media attention, maximizing media exposure, and leveraging digital platforms to connect with and engage sports audiences more effectively.

The PPR partners now equipped with fresh knowledge are ready to implement the new tools within their organizations. They are now well-positioned to strengthen their communication skills, expand audience engagement, and amplify outreach across their network.
