IDO Strengthens Global Ties: Fiona Johnson Concludes Inspiring Asia Tour
September 2025 – The International Dance Organization (IDO) proudly reflects on a successful Asian tour by its Senior Vice President, Ms. Fiona Johnson, who carried out a series of key meetings and appearances in Korea and Japan.
The tour underlined IDO’s commitment to cultural exchange, development, and long-term growth in Asia, one of the fastest-growing regions for dance.
Key Highlights of the Asia Tour:
- Strategic Meetings in Korea – IDO met with KIDC and government officials, laying the groundwork for future collaborations and participation in the World K-Art & Beauty Festival.
- Appointment to KIDC – Fiona Johnson was officially appointed Advisor for International Cooperation at the Korea International Dance Committee (KIDC) and received a Plaque of Appreciation recognizing her guidance during the Committee’s founding years.
- Seoul Fashion Week Presence – IDO partnered with KIDC for a special evening event at Seoul Fashion Week, attended by wives of foreign ambassadors and members of the American Women’s Club. This placed IDO in the spotlight of Korea’s cultural and creative industries.
- Promotion in Japan – IDO hosted a presentational meeting in Tokyo, introducing the Organization to potential partners in Performing Arts and scouting for a future national member organization.
- Towards the 2026 Asian Championship – IDO confirms preparations for Korea to host the IDO Asian Dance Championship in Yeosu, which will be the first large-scale IDO continental championship in Asia.
“Asia is a key part of IDO’s future vision,” said Fiona Johnson. “This tour allowed us to connect with passionate partners who are eager to bring IDO standards, inclusivity, and excellence into their countries. It was an honor to represent IDO, to listen, to share, and to open doors for the next generation of dancers.”
With IDO’s 45th anniversary approaching in 2026, the Organization is investing in new regions and embracing platforms like podcasts, seminars, and cross-continental partnerships that will bring the global dance community closer together.
