IDO Signs First Dance Development Fund Agreements with Four National Member Organizations
Paphos, Cyprus – June 2026 – The International Dance Organization (IDO) has taken another significant step in strengthening the global dance community by signing the first IDO Dance Development Fund (IDO DDF) funding agreements during the 2026 Annual General Assembly in Paphos, Cyprus.
IDO President Prof. dr.sc. Velibor Srdić officially signed funding agreements with representatives of the National Member Organizations from Slovakia, Cyprus, Ukraine and Italy, marking the beginning of a new era of direct investment into the development of dance projects across the IDO family.
The IDO Dance Development Fund was established to provide financial support for innovative projects that contribute to education, athlete development, organizational capacity, inclusion, community engagement and the long-term growth of dance within IDO member nations. Through these agreements, IDO reinforces its commitment to empowering its members by supporting initiatives that create sustainable impact at both national and international levels.
The agreements define a transparent framework for funding, project implementation, reporting and accountability, ensuring that every supported initiative aligns with the values and strategic objectives of the International Dance Organization. The programme represents one of IDO's most important investments in member development, encouraging innovation while strengthening cooperation between National Member Organizations and the international federation.
"The Dance Development Fund is an investment in people, ideas and the future of our organization," said IDO President Prof. dr.sc. Velibor Srdić. "By supporting our National Member Organizations directly, we are creating new opportunities for education, development and international cooperation that will benefit dancers and dance communities for years to come."
The signing ceremony represents the first group of approved projects under the newly established programme, with additional funding opportunities expected to continue through future IDO Dance Development Fund calls.
With this initiative, the International Dance Organization once again demonstrates its commitment to building a stronger, more connected and more sustainable global dance community through meaningful investment in its members.
