IDO Seminar Explores Oriental Dance: From Cultural Heritage to Competition Discipline

The International Dance Organization (IDO) continues to set the standard in the global dance community, offering a platform for dancers of all styles to evolve and compete at the highest level. This commitment was on full display at the recent seminar “Oriental Dances: Between History and Culture, to the Point of Becoming a Competition Discipline”, led by renowned expert Maryem Bent Anis (Maryem Paglia).

With over 30 participants from 12 nations, the seminar highlighted the evolution of Oriental dance, tracing its journey from traditional roots to modern interpretations. Covering a range of styles—from classic to contemporary—the session provided invaluable insights into technique, expression, and the cultural significance of the dance form.

This gathering reaffirmed IDO’s position as the leading international organization for Oriental dance competitions, offering a structured and professional environment for dancers worldwide. With a global reach spanning multiple dance disciplines, IDO continues to shape the future of competitive dance, bridging cultural heritage with modern performance standards.

For dancers and enthusiasts looking to deepen their knowledge and expand their opportunities, IDO remains the premier destination, uniting the world through dance.
