IDO President Velibor Srdic Opens the World Tap Dance Championships 2025 in Prague

The IDO World Tap Dance Championships 2025 officially opened today at the UNYP Arena in Prague, gathering more than 1,700 dancers from five continents for one of the year’s most anticipated dance events.

IDO President Velibor Srdic opened the championship and expressed his full satisfaction with the level of organization and quality shown from the very beginning. He praised the dedication and professionalism of the Tap Academy Prague organizing team, emphasizing that the event reflects the high standards and spirit of the International Dance Organization.

During the opening ceremony, the international panel of judges was presented to the audience, representing expertise from across the world and ensuring a fair and professional evaluation process throughout the week.
The Chairperson of Judges is Kerstin Albrecht (Germany), the Supervisor is Hana Svehlova (Slovak Republic), and the Scrutineer is Vesna Huber (Slovenia).

The audience also enjoyed the presence of Tomáš Slavíček, who once again proved to be an excellent moderator — bringing humor, rhythm, and positive energy to the arena.

With a strong start and great atmosphere, the championship now continues with solo, duo, and group categories that will fill Prague with tap rhythm until October 26.
