IDO Performing Arts Department Assembly Held Online with Strong International Participation

The International Dance Organization (IDO) held its Annual Performing Arts Department Assembly online on May 7th, with the participation of 33 delegates and guests from the IDO Presidium and various committees, representing 20 voting countries.

The meeting was led by Hana Svehlova, Chairperson of the Performing Arts Department, together with the Chairpersons of the individual Performing Arts committees. The agenda focused on the continued development of the department, with positive evaluations shared for most disciplines. Jazz, modern, tap, and show dance continue to thrive, while ballet, acrobatic dance, and PA improvisation are showing strong potential for future growth.

Hana Svehlova expressed appreciation to the Performing Arts Chairpersons for their committed work:
Nancy Chippendale (USA), Mitja Popovski (Slovenia), Tina D’Artnall (South Africa), Sylwana Patlaszynska (Poland), Mimi Marcac Mirceta (Slovenia), Seamus Byrne (Gibraltar), and Bonnie Dyer.

No new proposals were submitted during the meeting. Delegates re-elected Hana Svehlova as Chairperson of the Performing Arts Department, confirming her continued leadership.

The department is now preparing for a dynamic season ahead, with several major IDO Performing Arts competitions on the calendar:
