The International Dance Organization (IDO) has officially begun its coordination process with the National Member Organizations (NMOs) and event organizers who will host the IDO Continental and World Championships in 2026.
On January 15, 2026, an introductory online meeting was held with representatives from the Organizing Committees of Sweden, Austria, Hungary, Cyprus, Macedonia, Poland, Czechia, and Slovenia.
The meeting was led by IDO Senior Vice President Fiona Johnson and marked the first step in IDO’s new organizational structure, aimed at strengthening communication, alignment, and operational standards across all major IDO events.
During the session, IDO outlined the framework for closer cooperation with organizers, including clearer guidelines, improved planning procedures, and structured communication with IDO officials.
As a key outcome of the meeting, individual 1-on-1 coordination meetings have been scheduled for February 12 and 13, 2026. These sessions will be hosted by:
-
Fiona Johnson, IDO Senior Vice President
-
Trajče Petkovski, IDO Vice President (Marketing and Communications)
The meetings will focus on essential organizational topics, including:
-
The updated IDO Organizers Book
-
Cooperation with IDO Supervisors
-
Required documentation for IDO (hall plans, information letters, schedules, deadlines, and expectations)
-
Contracts and legal procedures
-

These structured discussions aim to support organizers in delivering high-quality, well-coordinated IDO events in 2026, while ensuring consistency, transparency, and professional standards across all Continental and World Championships.
