IDO joined EU SHARE 2.0 Community of Practice
The European Commission has recently launched the SHARE 2.0 initiative, aimed at strengthening collaboration and knowledge exchange on crucial topics in the sports sector, including access to EU funding, health, innovation, and sustainability.
Under this initiative, four thematic communities of practice have been established. These communities are focused on enhancing the capacity of stakeholders to identify and utilize EU funding to support sports and physical activities. Furthermore, they aim to promote and replicate successful practices in health, innovation, and environmentally sustainable sports, allowing participants to learn from each other and adapt to emerging needs.
The International Dance Organization (IDO) is privileged to be a part of these communities of practice, joining a wide range of stakeholders from all over Europe. This includes public authorities, grassroots sports organizations, federations, policy experts, and practitioners committed to developing sports at various levels – local, regional, national, or European.
The IDO has already participated in the first two virtual capacity-building events organized under this initiative. The first event, on June 18, addressed Green and Sustainable Sport, while the second event, on June 26, focused on promoting mental well-being through sport. These experiences have been highly positive, featuring presentations on various projects and activities that can contribute to the further development of the IDO.
