IDO Dancers Commission Kicks Off with a Dynamic Online Meeting
On a vibrant Thursday afternoon the IDO Dancers Commission held its first online meeting via Zoom. The virtual room buzzed with energy as six passionate commission members gathered, representing three different IDO departments. This international ensemble included:

Lana Vrtacnik , Slovenia, Street Dance
Julia Szewczyk, Poland, Couple Dance
and Hana Svehlova, Slovakia, IDO Presidium Member that conducted the meeting.
Things kicked off with a cheerful roll call, ensuring all members were present and ready to dance through the agenda with welcoming words that set a positive tone, sparking excitement for the tasks ahead.
A whirlwind of introductions followed, each member sharing their unique background and vibrant energy. Hana introduced herself and outlined the commission’s formation, which meets IDO’s criteria for diversity and representation while Cory Lunny, our experienced previous Chairperson, gave a brief yet inspiring recap of the commission’s past activities.
The highlights of an engaging discussion about the commission’s rules and the triumphs of the past three years included:
- Acting as the voice and guardian of IDO dancers worldwide.
- Serving as a crucial link to the IDO Presidium.
- Ensuring members remain active, licensed dancers who embody fair play.
- Keeping dancers and the IDO Presidium informed and up-to-date.
- each member was promped to think about their personal goals for the commission, sparking a flurry of thoughtful contemplation.
Following a lively discussion on election procedures, electing of the chairpersons for the entire 2024-2026 term took place. This idea was met with enthusiasm, and the elections proceeded smoothly.
