IDO Concludes 2025 with International Safeguarding Lecture
The final official activity of the International Dance Organization (IDO) in 2025 was an important Safeguarding lecture, underlining IDO’s ongoing commitment to safe, responsible, and ethical dance environments worldwide.
The lecture was conducted by Rachel Jackson Weingaertner, Safeguarding specialist, together with Prof. dr. sc. Velibor Srdić, President of the International Dance Organization.
Participants from 14 countries across 4 continents took part, reflecting the global importance of safeguarding within the dance community.
During the session, it was officially announced that Safeguarding education will soon become mandatory within IDO, marking a significant step toward strengthening protection standards for dancers, especially minors, at all IDO activities and events.
The lecture concluded with a lively and constructive discussion, allowing participants to exchange experiences, raise questions, and contribute to the future development of safeguarding policies within IDO.
With this lecture, IDO closed its 2025 program by sending a clear message: safeguarding is a shared responsibility and a fundamental priority for the future of dance.
