IDO Breaking Seminar: Setting New Foundations for the Future

The International Dance Organization (IDO) continues its commitment to raising the level of breaking worldwide with new projects and educational initiatives.

On Wednesday, April 23rd, Uros Skulj, Chairperson of the IDO Breaking Committee, led a highly engaging online seminar focused on the growth and structure of breaking as a dance discipline. The session gathered IDO members and dance enthusiasts eager to deepen their understanding of the art form.

The seminar covered key topics including the history of breaking, the evolution of its structure, and various judging systems used internationally. Through carefully selected examples and research from YouTube, Uros brought real-world insights into how breaking developed and where it stands today.

The discussion also touched on one of the IDO’s new major focuses — engaging the public and breakers into a stronger community format, marking the beginning of a new chapter for breaking within the organization.

This seminar is part of a broader project by the IDO to bring breaking to an even higher level, ensuring that future generations of dancers, trainers, and organizers benefit from more structured education, community involvement, and global connection.

The IDO looks forward to developing these new initiatives and to continuing to support breaking’s growth and success worldwide.
