IDO Breaking Committee Confirms Strong Direction for 2026 Season

The International Dance Organization (IDO) Breaking Committee held its annual meeting on 6 March 2026, bringing together delegates from 14 countries to review progress and plan the upcoming season.

Led by Chairperson Uroš Skulj, the committee highlighted positive feedback from dancers following the introduction of updated 1vs1 and 2vs2 formats during the 2025 competitions, confirming that the discipline is moving in a strong and modern direction.

Key events for 2026 were confirmed, with the European Championships scheduled for June in Klagenfurt, Austria, and the World Championships in October in Kielce, Poland.

The committee also discussed the development of judging systems, including continued use of the IDO system for European events and the BLOC system for World Championships, alongside further work on a new judging concept currently in development.

With clear plans, strong engagement, and continuous improvement, Breaking continues to grow as a dynamic and important discipline within IDO.
