IDO Actively Participates in the CoE EPAS Annual Meeting
The annual joint meeting of the EPAS Governing Board and Consultative Committee took place on 27–28 May in Strasbourg, bringing together representatives of governments, international sport organisations and youth delegates from across Europe. The meeting was attended by Patrik Perosa, IDO Advisor to the President, and IDO youth representative Mika Einmal.
A special focus of this year’s meeting was placed on strengthening the “Youth Perspective” in sport, including the active involvement of young delegates in discussions related to safer, healthier and more inclusive sport environments. The youth participants contributed with proposals and reflections on topics such as Safe Sport, mental health, inclusion, integrity, well-being and the future role of young people in sport governance and decision-making processes.
Discussions also addressed preparations for the 19th Council of Europe Conference of Ministers responsible for Sport in Monaco, good governance and autonomy of sport, ethical sport and integrity, Safe Sport, inclusion and diversity, human rights in and through sport, artificial intelligence in sport, solidarity with Ukraine, sport conventions, as well as co-operation between the Council of Europe and the European Union.
Within the framework of the 18th Plenary Meeting of the EPAS Consultative Committee (CC), elections for the six-member leadership of the CC Bureau were held for the next two-year mandate. Charlotte Girard Fabre (IFSO) was elected Chair of the Bureau, while Patrik Perosa (IDO) was elected Vice-Chair.
