IDO 2026: The World’s Dance Stage Comes Alive for an Extraordinary Second Half of the Season
From Disco and Performing Arts to Latin, Hip Hop, Tap, Ballet, Jazz and Modern & Contemporary, the second half of 2026 will bring the global dance community together across Europe and beyond.
Are you ready to start the new dance season?
The second half of 2026 is set to deliver an extraordinary series of international dance championships, with the International Dance Organization (IDO) once again bringing together dancers, coaches, judges, officials and dance communities from around the world.
From the energy of Disco in Sweden to the elegance of Ballet in Slovenia, from the rhythm of Latin dance in Cyprus to the power of Hip Hop in Poland, the coming months will showcase the incredible diversity of dance—and the world-class standard that has made IDO one of the leading international dance and dancesport organizations.
The season starts in Sweden
The road through the second half of the season begins in Örebro, Sweden, where the IDO World Disco Dance & Disco Freestyle Championships, together with the World Disco Slow and Disco Show Championships, will take place from 12–15 September.
With dancers competing across multiple disciplines and categories, Örebro will once again become a global meeting point for the Disco community. The championships are organized by SDO and Knut Säborg Dansstudio at Idrottshuset Arena.
Skopje welcomes Europe's Performing Arts elite
Immediately afterwards, the spotlight moves to Skopje, North Macedonia, for an exceptional week dedicated to Performing Arts.
From 21–29 September, the IDO European Ballet, Jazz, Performing Arts Improvisation, and Modern & Contemporary Championships will take place at the Boris Trajkovski Sport Center.
The event will bring together some of Europe's finest young and established performers for a celebration of technique, creativity and artistic expression. The Skopje championships are organized by MAMD and Trajce Petkovski.
Latin heat arrives in Cyprus
In October, the dance world heads to the Mediterranean.
From 9–15 October, Larnaca, Cyprus, will host an exciting series of IDO World and European Championships, beginning with the IDO World Latin Style Championships, followed by World Disco Fox, European Latin Show & Caribbean Show, and the World Caribbean Dance, Salsa, Bachata & Merengue Championships.
It promises to be a spectacular celebration of rhythm, passion and international competition in an extraordinary destination.
Hip Hop and Tap take center stage
The energy continues in October as two major IDO World Championships take place simultaneously in two iconic European dance destinations.
From 17–24 October, Kielce, Poland, will welcome the world's best Hip Hop dancers for the IDO World Hip Hop Battles & Breaking Championships and the IDO World Hip Hop & Popping Championships at Hala Legionów.
At the same time, Prague, Czechia, will be alive with rhythm as the IDO World Tap Dance Championships take place from 20–25 October at UNYP Arena.
Two cities. Two different dance worlds. One global IDO stage.
A spectacular Performing Arts finale in Slovenia
As the year moves towards its final chapter, the focus returns to Performing Arts.
Podčetrtek, Slovenia, will host a remarkable sequence of IDO World Championships, beginning with Modern & Contemporary from 21–25 November, followed by Jazz from 26–29 November, and Ballet from 29 November–1 December.
Together, these championships will create an exceptional international celebration of Performing Arts, bringing some of the world's most talented dancers together in Slovenia.
And finally… Mikołajki
The final major chapter of the 2026 IDO World Championship season will unfold in the beautiful Polish town of Mikołajki.
The IDO World Acrobatic Championships will take place on 3–4 December, followed by the IDO World Show Dance Championships from 5–9 December.
Mikołajki has become synonymous with the spectacular finale of the Performing Arts season, where athleticism, creativity, storytelling and stage performance come together to create unforgettable championship moments.
