Get Ready for the IDO European Disco Dance & Disco Freestyle Championships 2025 in Nitra, Slovakia

The countdown is on for one of the most colorful and energetic events on the IDO calendar.
From October 16th to 19th, 2025, the IDO European Disco Dance & Disco Freestyle Championships will take place in Nitra, Slovakia, bringing together 18 countries and 1,816 dancers for an unforgettable celebration of rhythm, light, and pure disco energy.

This year’s event is organized by SDSF & Tanečná škola Unlimited, o.z., led by Alexandra and Edina Tóthová, who have prepared something truly special for all dancers and guests.
Expect a top-class competition, fantastic production, exciting surprises, and a warm welcome from the local community.

Welcome to Nitra — The Heart of Slovak Tradition

As one of the oldest cities in Slovakia, Nitra beautifully blends history and modern life. Its skyline is crowned by the Nitra Castle, one of the country’s most iconic landmarks, while the charming old town invites visitors to stroll through narrow streets filled with cafés, local shops, and centuries of history.

Nature lovers can enjoy a walk to Zobor Hill for panoramic views of the city, while culture seekers can explore the Andrej Bagar Theatre, Nitra Synagogue, or the Archaeological Museum.

How many dancers and countries will join this year?
We’re thrilled to welcome 18 countries and 1,816 dancers to Nitra. It’s going to be a huge, high-energy event full of incredible performances and great memories.

What makes this edition unique?
We’ve prepared a beautiful stage, amazing music, fantastic prizes, and special trophies and medals for all finalists and winners. But what really makes it unique is the spirit — so many passionate and kind people are working to make sure everything runs smoothly and with a smile.

What can dancers and visitors expect from the venue and the city?
A vibrant, welcoming atmosphere — both in the sports hall and in the city itself. Nitra is full of positive energy, great food, and friendly people.

Any surprises in store?
Definitely. We’re proud to have two general sponsors — Pharmacy PLUS and Dermacol — who have prepared some amazing gifts and prizes for the dancers. And we’ll have a few surprises on site that will make the competition even more fun.
