FOUR UNFORGETTABLE DAYS IN ÖREBRO AS THE IDO WORLD DISCO CHAMPIONSHIPS 2026 COME TO A CLOSE
The IDO World Disco Championships 2026 concluded in Örebro, Sweden, after four spectacular days that brought together more than 1,800 dancers from 18 countries in a celebration of energy, athleticism, creativity and international friendship.
From 12–15 September, Örebro became the centre of the international Disco Dance community, welcoming dancers, coaches, officials and supporters for World Championship competition in Disco Dance, Disco Freestyle, Disco Slow and Disco Show.
The fourth and final day brought another exciting programme to the floor, with Disco Dance Show Formations and Groups, followed by an action-packed schedule of Disco Dance Duos across Mini Kids – Dance Star, Children, Junior 1, Junior 2 and Adults. The final rounds produced the last World Champions of Örebro 2026 before the championship concluded with its final prize-giving ceremonies.
Across all four days, the championships showcased the diversity of Disco Dance — from the speed and precision of Solos and Duos to the emotion of Disco Slow, the athleticism of Disco Freestyle and the synchronization and creativity of Groups, Formations and Disco Show.
The International Dance Organization congratulates all dancers and newly crowned World Champions and extends its appreciation to the coaches, national delegations, adjudicators and officials who contributed to the success of the championships.
Special thanks go to Main Organizer Knut Säborg, SDO & Knut Säborg Dansstudio, and the entire local organizing team for welcoming the international IDO family to Örebro and delivering four memorable days of competition.
The story now continues.
In 2027, the IDO World Disco Dance & Disco Freestyle Championships will move to Bratislava, Slovak Republic, where the international Disco Dance family will meet again from 14–17 October 2027 at Gopass Arena.
Thank you, Örebro.
See you in Bratislava 2027!
