EPAS Holds Annual Meetings and Launches “Sport for All” Project in Strasbourg
The Enlarged Partial Agreement on Sport (EPAS) of the Council of Europe hosted its annual Governing Board and Consultative Committee meetings on May 14–15, 2025, in Strasbourg. The sessions included elections, strategic updates, and the launch of a joint EU–Council of Europe project.
Solene Charuau (France) was elected Chair of the Governing Board, with a new Bureau appointed for the 2025–2027 term. Guido Battaglia (Centre for Sport and Human Rights) joined the Consultative Committee Bureau. Participants discussed the revised European Sports Charter, future ministerial conferences, and draft guidelines on safer recruitment in sport.
The highlight was the launch of the Sport For All project, focused on inclusion and combating discrimination against persons with disabilities. The event featured institutional leaders, athletes, and interactive sessions like blind football.
Patrik Peroša, Advisor to the President of the International Dance Organization (IDO), actively participated in the Strasbourg meetings. During the session of the Consultative Committee, it was officially announced that IDO’s membership in the Council of Europe’s EPAS Consultative Committee has been renewed for the 2025–2028 term. IDO has been a member of the EPAS Consultative Committee since 2019.
