IDO Disco Forum Held in Nitra During European Championships

Nitra, Slovakia – The IDO Disco Forum took place on 18 October during the European Disco Championships, bringing together voices from across the international disco dance community. The session was led by Giancarlo Tarabella, Chairperson of the IDO Disco Committee, and Hana Švehlová, member of the IDO Presidium.

A total of 31 dancers and trainers from 13 countries joined the forum to share views and contribute to the development of the discipline. The discussion focused on practical topics that directly influence competitors and coaches, including:

  • Costume guidelines

  • Dates of future IDO Disco events

  • Competition rules

  • Small formations category

  • Age divisions in Disco Slow

  • Additional suggestions from participants

The forum was open, productive, and based on constructive dialogue. Feedback collected in Nitra will be reviewed by the Disco Committee and presented to the IDO Presidium for further evaluation.

Giancarlo Tarabella highlighted that interaction with dancers and trainers is an essential part of developing the discipline:
“Open communication helps us improve the structure of our championships and support the growth of disco dance worldwide.”

IDO continues to provide space for discussion and development of all disciplines, ensuring that dancers and trainers are heard and involved in the evolution of rules and formats.
