Dance Association of Slovenia - Plesna zveza Slovenije Celebrates 70th Anniversary

This year, the Dance Association of Slovenia proudly marks its 70th anniversary! The milestone will be celebrated with a special event on Wednesday, September 25, in Podčetrtek.

The event promises an exciting journey through the vibrant history of the association, showcasing key moments from its foundation to the present day.

“Founded in the aftermath of World War II, the Dance Association of Slovenia has overcome numerous challenges, adapting to new rules and social dynamics. Today, it unites both competitive and recreational dancers from across the country. What our founders envisioned 70 years ago is now a remarkable reality,” says Jadran Živković, President of the Dance Association of Slovenia.

With over 80 active dance clubs, many of which have been cornerstones of competitive dance for decades, the association continues to inspire and support new generations of dancers.

For seven decades, the Dance Association of Slovenia has brought the best from the global dance scene, refined it, and made it even better. This passion has driven Slovenian dancers to shine on the international stage, earning numerous medals at European and world championships.

“Dance is a universal language, a natural response to music and rhythm that enriches our emotions, creativity, and physical abilities. It has become a vital part of both Slovenian sport and culture,” Živković adds.
