An Unforgettable Week of Dance Comes to a Close in Klagenfurt
KLAGENFURT, AUSTRIA – After seven spectacular days of competition, celebration, and international friendship, the IDO European HipHop & Popping Championships, All Styles Battles & Breaking Championships, and IDO Couple Dance Championships 2026 have successfully concluded in Klagenfurt, Austria.
The championships transformed Klagenfurt into one of Europe's leading dance capitals, welcoming thousands of dancers, coaches, officials, and supporters from across the continent. Throughout the week, participants showcased exceptional talent, determination, creativity, and sportsmanship across a wide range of disciplines.
The event opened with the exciting All Styles Battles and Breaking Championships, where dancers demonstrated incredible skill, musicality, originality, and competitive spirit in front of enthusiastic audiences. The battle floor delivered unforgettable moments and crowned a new generation of European champions.
The excitement continued with the IDO European HipHop & Popping Championships, featuring outstanding performances from solo dancers, duos, small groups, formations, and productions. One of the highlights of the week was the spectacular Parade of Nations, where dancers proudly represented their countries and celebrated together in a colorful display of unity, friendship, and international spirit. The celebration continued with an unforgettable party atmosphere led by DJ Jacksy, who kept dancers from across Europe dancing and enjoying the evening together.
At the same time, the IDO Couple Dance Championships brought elegance, passion, and outstanding performances to the championship floor. Competitors in Salsa, Bachata, Merengue, Caribbean Dances, Latin Style, Latin Show, and Caribbean Show delivered performances of the highest quality while competing for prestigious European and World Championship titles.
The championships were organized by DCE Austria under the leadership of Klaus Hoellbacher and Mathias Kunauer, whose dedicated team delivered an exceptional experience for all participants and guests.
The event was supported by an outstanding team of officials. Jannie Breiner Jensen served as Supervisor of the All Styles Battles and Breaking Championships, while Kirsten Dan Jensen served as Supervisor of the HipHop & Popping Championships and Couple Dance Championships. Dita Hejnikova served as Chairperson, ensuring the highest standards throughout the competitions.
Guiding competitors and audiences throughout the week were moderators Predrag Katanić (Serbia), Thomas Puttmann-Lentz (Germany), and Mimi Sagmeister (Austria), whose professionalism, energy, and enthusiasm contributed greatly to the unique atmosphere of the championships.
The International Dance Organization congratulates every participant, finalist, medalist, and champion who took part in this remarkable championship week and thanks the entire dance community for creating an atmosphere filled with respect, friendship, and unforgettable memories.
