An extraordinary success for the IDO World Championships in Castellanza!

The IDO World Championships in Show Dance, Acrobatic Dance and Performing Arts Improvisation took place in Castellanza, Lombardy, from 17 to 22 November 2025. The event was organized in Italy by CIBS – Comitato Italiano Ballo Sportivo – which coordinated the entire organizational structure together with the IDO.

On the floor of the Soavis Arena (formerly PalaBorsani), more than 3.000 dancers from 31 nations and 3 continents performed, creating a spectacular display of energy, technique and emotion. The Show Dance performances were especially powerful, capable of telling engaging stories that captivated, moved and completely immersed the audience in every step taken by the athletes.

The arena saw extraordinary attendance, with the stands constantly packed and incredibly passionate supporters. Thanks to the live broadcast by Ivan Gatti Production, the event was streamed in real time all over the world. Media coverage was immense: over 1 MILLION views on the official CIBS social channels, a milestone that clearly confirms the powerful communication impact of the sport dance movement.

The event was attended by numerous distinguished figures from the institutional and dance worlds: IDO President Velibor Sridc, organizer Edilio Pagano, IDO Honorary President Michael Wendt, honorary members Renzo Maoggi (Italy) and Peter Szanto (Hungary), Promodanza President Ferruccio Galvagno with MIDAS officials Angelo and Alessandro Tecchio, the Mayor of Castellanza Cristina Borroni, and the Deputy Mayor and Sports Councillor Claudio Merati. The event concluded with a moment of great sensitivity: a performance to the notes of Stardust by the “Special” dancers of the Rosy Dance school, which moved the audience and provided one of the most touching moments of the entire competition.
