5th Grand Prix City of Follonica Attracts Thousands of Dancers from Italy and Beyond

From May 1st to 4th, the Italian coastal city of Follonica welcomed over 3,000 dancers for the 5th edition of the Grand Prix City of Follonica, an IDO licensed competition that continues to grow year after year.

Since its launch in 2020, the event has become a key date on the sports calendar for dancers in Italy and beyond, offering a platform for athletes of all ages and styles to perform at the highest level. The 2025 edition drew participants from across Italy, as well as nine other countries: Ukraine, Hungary, Bulgaria, Poland, Switzerland, France, Greece, Montenegro, and Croatia.

Competitions were held across a wide range of disciplines including Caribbean dances, Performing Arts, Latin style, Free style, Disco Dance, Street, and Hip Hop. The event is known not just for its high level of competition, but also for its dedication to athlete experience and well-being. In previous editions, all finalists enjoyed complimentary sports massages by professional therapists—a thoughtful detail that was again welcomed by many dancers this year.

Prize money and awards added excitement to the competition, reinforcing the event's commitment to both performance and recognition. As the Grand Prix celebrates its fifth year, it remains a shining example of how a dance competition can blend sport, community, and care for the athletes.
