IDO World Show Dance and Tap Championships 2017!
The International Dance Organisation is excited that the IDO World Show Dance and Tap Championships for 2017 will commence on Monday for two weeks. The Championship is being organised from the 20th November to the 2nd December 2017, in the German city of Riesa.
The event is organised by FVG Riesa together with IDO President Michael Wendt. This year will be a very special event, given IDO celebrates 21 years of its presence in this fantastic sports city and will be celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the IDO World Tap Championships! 3,500 dancers from 32 nations from 5 continents will be taking part in this impressive IDO Championships. The 32 nations are:
Australia, Austria, Belarus, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Canada, Croatia, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Gibraltar, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Lithuania, Mexico, Norway, Poland, Russian Federation, Serbia, Singapore, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, South Africa, South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom and United States of America.
IDO President Michael Wendt said:
‘We have 2,200 participants in Show Dance and 1,300 Tap dancers, making our event the largest official Dance World Championships world-wide with 3,500 participants for two weeks.
I am delighted to see many new countries competing for the first time in Riesa including China, Mexico, Singapore and South Korea to name a few.
The City of Riesa is looking forward to welcoming all these wonderful dancers from all over the world, together with their national officials, coaches, choreographers and chaperones.’
