Oct 5, 2011One of the founders of IDO hands over legacy

Thank you Deidre and Michael Prescott for your great contribution to IDO!

- Gibraltar after the most successful IDO European Showdance Championships

Dear IDO friends!

After 30 years in the IDO we feel that the time has come for us to retire and hand over our legacy to our Vice President in Gibraltar
Seamus Byrne.

In our 30 years in the IDO we have seen it grow from its humble beginnings, with only 4 member countries, to the large organisation it is now. We are extremely proud of everything that we have done for both Gibraltar and the IDO over the years and have made an immense amount of friends along the way, which we consider as our family.

After the most successful European Championships in Gibraltar we feel the time is right for us to step down. A wise man once said it always best to leave when you are at your highest peak and we feel that the time is now the correct one.

We will have a period of handing over all our work to Seamus and guide him along the way, after which time he will have full control. Obviously we will always be here for support whenever he wishes.

I would also like to retire both from IDO judge (when Seamus and myself have trained a few more

from Gibraltar) and also from Area Representative for Spain and Portugal.

Obviously you will always have our friendship and help whenever you might need it.

For your information Seamus will this year be accomapying the Gibraltar Team to Riesa.

Once again I wish to thank you both for all the support given to us over all these years and remember that our friendship will last a lifetime wherever we may be.

We are glad to have been of service to the IDO over all these years and hope that the IDO will get even stronger still over the years to come.

Yours

Michael and Deirdre Prescott

=================================

Dear Deirdre and Michael.

In a way it is nice to read your e-mail, in another way it is sad.

On behalf of the entire IDO I want to say THANK YOU for what both of you have done for IDO.
You have been one of the most important people in the growth and development of IDO from the very beginning. This will always be remembered.

We have worked very close together the last years, specially with you as the Area Representative, a job both of you have done exelent and also with the very succesful championship in Gibraltar.

It is an honour to be your collegue and friend.

When you now are handling over your job to Seamus we all know it is the best hands.

I hope to see you again soon , in Gibraltar, in Marbella or at an IDO event.

Again THANK YOU.

Best regards
Jørn Storbraten
