Nov 11, 2009The direction points up

"Riesa" will host more than 3.700 dancers from 30 countries world wide and all 5 continents

- The Saxonian dancesport capital and the whole region prepare to welcome their prestigiuos guests from all over the world

The second deadline for the IDO World Show- and Tap Dance Championships 2009 in the Saxonian Dancesport City of Riesa from November 23 to December 5, 2009 has been closed.
All enrollments and lists are up dated now. Everybody can see the enrollment lists per discipline, age group and category in the IDO “open” website under the competitions.

It is amazing: despite the many worries about enrollments at all, and especially Riesa for so many years now, the financial pressure and burdens in many countries, especially the worries about the “expensive” EURO etc. etc. there are more than 100 dancers MORE enrolled than 2008! We understand the worries and problems and thank you for the great attendance and those many excellent dancers from all over the dance world:

In 2006 ==> 3.450 dancers
In 2007 ==> 3.442 dancers
In 2008 ==> 3.704 dancers
In 2009 ==> 3.810 dancers

125 formations are enrolled in both show and tap dance disciplines - in all 4 age divisions PLUS 27 productions.

I am personally very much looking forward to be seeing many of you in Riesa very soon and promise a prestigious, fair and well organized IDO event!

Everything is prepared for the largest officially recognized world dance sport championship (in the world) , which is an IDO event and running according IDO rules with IDO dancers!

The city of Riesa is ready to welcome these many great dancers, international dance officials and presidents, famous choreographers and teachers, enthusiastic chaperones from all 5 continents and the many media people !

See you in Riesa!
