IDO Estonian Open Championships

- 10 to 12 April 2009

The IDO President Bill Fowler who supervised the Estonian Open wrote the following letter to organizer Triina Utt:

“I finally have a little spare time, flying back to the USA, to thank you for the wonderful experience of being Supervisor at your wonderful IDO Estonian Open Championship, which was held recently in Tallinn.

The hospitality and friendliness extended to me by you, your family and staff was just perfect. Although the competition days were rather long, time passed quickly because of your and your staff’s efficient attention to detail and adhering to the time schedule. Most of the time, we were actually ahead of the predicted time.

It was wonderful to see so many young dancers, from many countries, competing in a variety of dance disciplines, for the title of Estonian Champion and also the coveted Baltic Cup. One of my big surprises was the growth in talent and ability of the Estonian dancers. Your country may be physically small in size but it is certainly large in talent.

I was also very impressed with the judging staff. Many times they seemed to be judging as one and their scores reflected that. All in all, it was a great job by all who took part in this outstanding event.

I hope that someday in the near future, I will again have the opportunity of traveling to your very beautiful country of Estonia, to witness and enjoy another IDO Dance Event. “

The IDO Estonian Open Championship took place in Estonia’s capital city, Talinn, from 10 to 12 April. For further information and the competition results please visit: http://www.ido-estonia.net/ and for photos: http://www.ido-estonia.net/gallery1.php?id=30
